As of March 23rd, new tariffs were officially leveled at imported steel and aluminum. While these tariffs were primarily aimed at China, their impact has sent shockwaves through a variety of industries. However, a handful of countries were given exemptions from the 25 percent tariff on steel and the 10 percent tariff on aluminum. Canada and Mexico were granted exemptions while the European Union, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, and South Korea were given temporary exemptions from the tariffs.

Choosing an AC system can be overwhelming…there are many factors that need to be considered, such as unit size, efficiency rating, brand, budget, available warranties, etc. Typically, when homeowners are in the market for a new air conditioning system, it’s because their current system is no longer working—which only adds to the stress of the process of purchasing a new system.

Simply walking outside in south Florida can sometimes feel like entering a sauna due to the high humidity. Many homeowners assume that their air conditioner removes the humidity from the air—which it does, to a degree.

Figuring out that you need to replace a malfunctioning heater is not fun—especially if you’ve already turned it on (because you need it due to cold weather). However, if you watch for signs that your system needs repair (or eventually replacement) before you need to turn the heat on, you may be able to prevent a complete system breakdown.
